Responsible Gambling at 1Red: Staying in Control at the Card Table

Blackjack rewards clear decisions, and so does gambling in general. At 1Red, play is paid entertainment for adults aged 18 and over, with tables open 24/7. This page covers self-exclusion, signs of trouble, habits for table players and independent help.

Why limits matter

Even with perfect basic strategy, blackjack keeps a house edge, so over time play costs money. For most people that is the price of entertainment; for some, gambling becomes an illness recognised by medicine. 1Red keeps minors out, can ask for proof of age at any time and offers self-exclusion for a set period or permanently.

This page contains no offers. Safer-play questions are answered by e-mail free of charge and kept confidential.

How to self-exclude

To shut yourself out of 1Red, write to [email protected] from the e-mail address on your account and say how long the exclusion should last. If gambling has turned into a problem, an open-ended exclusion is the recommended choice. Requests sent through the 24/7 chat are not processed, because the request must come in writing from your registered address.

Once it is in place, every gambling function is closed to you — deposits, tables, slots, bets, promotions, new accounts and withdrawals. A fixed-term exclusion simply runs out, and you get an e-mail when it does. A permanent one can only be reversed by a written request followed by seven days of cooling-off, and 1Red can say no or extend it if it still sees signs of problem gambling.

Signs of a problem

Problem gambling rarely starts suddenly. Common signals are playing for much longer or with more money than you meant to, increasing bets to recover losses, using money set aside for bills or food, borrowing or selling belongings to keep going, hiding your play from people close to you, feeling restless when you cannot play, and seeing work, study or relationships suffer.

If you recognise several of these in yourself, take a break and talk to someone.

Habits for table players

Keeping minors out

1Red does not accept anyone under 18, or under the legal age where they live. Proof of age can be demanded at any point, identity-verification services check new accounts, and any account suspected of belonging to a minor is suspended while 1Red investigates. At home, keep your login private and consider a filter that blocks gambling sites on devices children use.
